The Brainerd Public Library will host a three-hour Memoir Workshop at two different times Saturday.

Participants can choose from 10 a.m to 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

In the workshop, participants will be guided through supportive journaling techniques to create vignettes or "captured moments" of important life events. At the end of class, participants will have a collection of stories and the know-how to continue their legacy writing.

Brenda Hudson will be leading the class. She is a teacher, editor, writer, and a certified journal facilitator. She has a master's degree in journalism and a doctorate in rhetoric. Helping others express themselves through writing is her passion, the library reported.

This is a free program made possible with funding from Kitchigami Regional Library through the state of Minnesota's Legacy Amendment funds to preserve arts and cultural heritage. All writing levels are welcome and registration is required by calling the library at 218-829-5574.
