AITKIN - With the 2014 Minnesota harvest season roaring into full swing, local Minnesotans have the option of finding many more fresh options at the Aitkin Farmers' Market.
Since it first launched at the end of May, the Farmers' Market has earned positive reception from the surrounding community for its diversity and selection of garden-fresh offerings, as well as handmade crafts and other specially crafted items, market organizers said.

Music at the market
Throughout the 2014 harvest season, the Aitkin Farmers' Market will feature a lineup of indie artists showcasing their live musical talent for market patrons. One of these artists is popular acoustic rock musician Astronaut Jones, who hails from both Minnesota and New Jersey. Described as having a very atypical Jersey Shore sound, Astronaut Jones' brand of acoustic rock is an original experience. With influences ranging from Led Zeppelin to The Misfits, his guitar playing and songwriting are in a class by themselves, according to market officials. Astronaut Jones will perform at the 2014 Aitkin Farmers' Market on Aug. 30.
