Fun run to be held in Crosby

CROSBY - A 1K Fun Run, fitness activities and more than 20 health education booths will all be part of the second annual Fun and Fit Jam scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 23, at Hallett Community Center in Crosby.

CROSBY - A 1K Fun Run, fitness activities and more than 20 health education booths will all be part of the second annual Fun and Fit Jam scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 23, at Hallett Community Center in Crosby.

The event begins with the Fun Run at 9 a.m. on a route from Hallett to the Croft Mine area. There is no fee to participate and no registration is necessary. The health and wellness expo and activities at the Hallett Center will continue until 11 a.m.

A free backpack stuffed full of school supplies donated by Cuyuna Regional Medical Center employees will be given to the first 150 youth. There will also be fitness and healthy snack preparation demonstrations and refreshments will be served. Participants can also enjoy a bouncy house and Hallett's pool and waterslide at no charge.

The event is brought to the community by CRMC's Project Can-do community health initiative and Hallett Community Center.
