Future reconstruction of Hwy 210/Washington Street in Brainerd on horizon

In 2025 or beyond, MnDOT will reconstruct both directions of the four-lane road between Baxter Dr. and the end of the four-lane (Pine Shores Rd.)

MnDOT, Crow Wing County and the City of Brainerd are looking for your help in planning the future Hwy 210/Washington St. through Brainerd.

In 2025 or beyond, MnDOT will reconstruct both directions of the four-lane road between Baxter Dr. and the end of the four-lane (Pine Shores Rd.) We are currently studying the corridor to better understand the community’s issues, needs and use of the roadway.

When complete in fall 2021, this study will inform plans for future reconstruction.

Goals:

Learn from the Brainerd Lakes area community about issues, needs and use of Hwy 210
Identify preferred roadway improvements that have community buy-in and are within budget
Inform residents, businesses and visitors about future construction plans

Project schedule:

Spring 2020 – Gather public input and analyze current traffic

Summer 2020 – Develop draft roadway design concepts

Fall 2020 – Share concepts with the public and gather input

Winter 2020/spring 2021 – Develop a preferred roadway design concept

Summer/fall 2021 – Share preferred design concept with the public
