The Brainerd Public Library will host "Worm Composting" to be presented by Master Gardener Jackie Burkey from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday.
Participants will learn how to assemble a worm bin, what scraps to feed and how to harvest the finished compost. People can compost indoor year-round by letting worms do all the work. Attend this class to learn about the many benefits of worm composting.

Free Master Gardener classes have been offered through the University of Minnesota Extension Crow Wing County Master Gardeners will take place at the Brainerd Public Library through the year. Monthly presentations facilitated by certified UMN Extension Crow Wing County Master Gardeners will discuss subjects ranging from garden tools to gourds. Master Gardeners are University of Minnesota-trained volunteers whose job is to educate the public about a variety of horticulture subjects using readily-available, up-to-date research-based information. The Master Gardener Program educational effort is designed to enhance the public's quality of life and to promote good stewardship of the environment.
In December, the class will be "Old-fashioned Favorites: Peonies and Clematis" presented by Master Gardener Jennifer Knutson at noon Dec. 8.
