The Brainerd Public Schools Foundation is seeking matching donations on Give to the Max Day Nov. 12.

Kirk Lingenfelter was award a grant from the Brainerd Public Schools Foundation during the 2014-15 school year for his innovative ideas. He was able to purchase an OpenROV robotic submarine to begin student exploration of the Brainerd lakes area through new eyes, according to a news release.

Students and the community will have access to life under the surface, local limnology, history and local aquatic ecosystems. His program needs an updated laptop in order to succeed.

Each dollar donated Thursday will be matched from an identified funding source, up to $2,000.
