Crow Wing County to accept commercial latex paint for disposal

The Crow Wing County household hazardous waste facility will now accept architectural latex paint from contractors and businesses at no cost.

The facility will open for this specific waste stream 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month from May through October.

"The HHW site will now also provide a location for our local paint contractors or area businesses to properly dispose of old architectural latex paint for free," stated County Environmental Services Supervisor Jake Frie, in a news release. "This free service keeps these chemicals out of our environment, protecting our water and forest resources."

Upon arriving at the county landfill site, businesses must stop at the landfill office. The attendant will discuss the items to be disposed and provide directions to the facility. Loads coming to the county landfill must be covered to ensure roadways are not littered with debris.
