Mary Gritzmacher of Pierz was appointed a public member of the Minnesota Rural Finance Authority, Gov. Tim Walz and Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan announced Thursday, Nov. 14.

The appointment of Gritzmacher’s term begins Nov. 19 and expires Jan. 2, 2023.

The Rural Finance Authority offers low-interest loan programs to farmers for a wide variety of activities. The RFA partners with local lenders to provide affordable credit to eligible farmers. The authority’s purpose is to develop the state’s agricultural resources by extending credit on farm real estate security and depreciable agricultural property

Gritzmacher’s appointment was one of many Walz appointments to the Board of Dietetics and Nutrition Practice, the Minnesota Forest Resources Council, the Minnesota Rural Finance Authority, the State Advisory Council on Mental Health, the Statewide Independent Living Council and the Minnesota Zoological Board.
