Governor appoints Mallie to Brainerd bench

Brainerd attorney Matthew Mallie was appointed to the bench in Minnesota's 9th Judicial District, replacing retiring Judge Earl E. Maus.

Mallie will be chambered in Brainerd.

Mallie is a solo practitioner at Mallie Law Offices, P.A., with offices in Brainerd and Little Falls, where he maintains a general practice. Additionally, he serves as the city prosecutor for multiple cities in Crow Wing County and as a conflict attorney for the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe. Previously, he was the civil city attorney for Garrison and a judicial law clerk to Judge L.W. Yost in the 1st Judicial District.

Mallie is chair of the Victim Coordinating Council, treasurer and secretary of the Brainerd Economic Development Authority and a member of Business Networking International and the Brainerd Lakes Area Sex Trafficking Team.

Mallie earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Loras College and his Juris Doctor degree from the Mitchell Hamline College of Law.

Minnesota's 9th Judicial District consists of Aitkin, Beltrami, Cass, Clearwater, Crow Wing, Hubbard, Itasca, Kittson, Koochiching, Lake of the Woods, Mahnomen, Marshall, Norman, Pennington, Polk, Red Lake and Roseau counties.
