ST. PAUL โ Tomorrow, in observance of the thirteenth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, Governor Mark Dayton has ordered all United States flags and Minnesota flags be flown at half-staff at all state and federal buildings in the State of Minnesota from sunrise until sunset. Individuals, businesses and other organizations also are encouraged to join in lowering their flags in observance of the anniversary.
As a mark of respect for the victims of this tragedy, Governor Dayton has proclaimed Thursday to be 'Patriot Day' and 'A Day of Service and Remembrance' in the State of Minnesota. In solidarity with the rest of the nation, Governor Dayton also encourages all Minnesotans to observe the National Moment of Silence at 7:46 a.m. Central Daylight Time.
President Barack Obama asks that the people of the United States honor and remember the victims of September 11, 2001, and their loved ones through prayer, memorial services, the visiting of memorials, the ringing of bells, evening candlelight remembrance vigils, and other appropriate ceremonies and activities.
