Gov. Mark Dayton and Lt. Governor Tina Smith issued a proclamation this morning declaring Tuesday, June 7, to be "Prince Day" in Minnesota.
Prince (Rogers Nelson) was born on June 7, 1958, in Minneapolis. He passed away suddenly on April 21, 2016. Prince would have been 58 years old tomorrow.
The proclamation issued today by Dayton and Smith is meant to celebrate Prince's life and many contributions-not only in arts and culture, but also in his many acts of service to his fellow Minnesotans.
