ST. PAUL - Police have released the identity of the man who was killed after an hour-long standoff in a St. Paul neighborhood Monday.
Justin Todd Tolkinen, 28, of St. Paul died after wielding an assault rifle Monday afternoon near White Bear Avenue.
After shouting obscenities in an alley behind 411 White Bear Ave., Tolkinen went to retrieve an assault rifle he stashed inside his home. Police first shot him with non-lethal projectiles, but later had to use lethal rounds on Tolkinen.
The department’s public information office had no further information as of Tuesday afternoon.
