'Hangin’ with Our Heroes’ set Aug. 31 at wildlife park

Safari North Wildlife Park is hosting “Hangin’ with Our Heroes” Aug. 31 at the park south of Brainerd off Highway 371.

The park invites veterans, active duty, peace officers, firefighters and emergency medical service personnel for a day dedicated to them. Free admission to the park for those who come in uniform or provide identification, otherwise tickets are $14.99 for adults and $9.99 for children ages 2-12.

The day includes animal shows at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.; an honor guard flag presentation at noon; and free face painting 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Luminaries are available at a minimum donation of $5 to honor a hero, with all the proceeds to go to the Wounded Warrior Project.
