There are now two educational opportunities participants who attend the Jon Hassler Festival on June 14-15 can use as documentation of professional development, according to Kari Frisch, Hassler Festival education coordinator.

The first option is for Continuing Education Units. CEU certificates will be awarded at the end of the conference. Participants wanting to receive the CEU credit must attend the full two-day conference.

The second option is for a graduate credit, awarded by the School of Education through the College of St. Scholastica. Participants interested in the graduate credit will be required to sign-up at the beginning of the conference on June 14, attend the entire conference, complete a work packet and participate in a 45-minute post-conference session at the close of the conference, scheduled for 3:15-4 p.m., June 15. All assigned work is expected to be done during the two conference days.

It is important participants interested in either of these educational opportunities, the CEUs or graduate credit, check in with Frisch at the beginning of the day on June 14 during the conference registration time from noon to 1 p.m.; or participants may lose the option of being able to sign-up for the graduate credit or receive the CEUs.

The CEU certificate will be an additional $5 and the graduate credit will be $125 on top of the pre-paid conference fee. The $100 conference fee is required for all participants. Those interested in the additional professional development options will be given payment directions at registration time on how to pay the additional $5 for the CEU or the additional $125 for the graduate credit.
