MOTLEY-A motorist was seriously injured Thursday after being ejected from a passenger car in a multi-vehicle crash in Cass County.
In all, three drivers and a passenger involved in the head-on collision were injured.
The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash at 3:56 p.m. on Highway 64 at 96th Street Southwest in Becker Township in Cass County. The state patrol reported a Ford Fusion, driven by Matthew C. Sams, 24, Staples, rear-ended a southbound Chevrolet Silverado pickup and then was pushed into the northbound lane resulting in a head-on crash with a Toyota Camry. Sams was ejected from the car and flown from the scene to the St. Cloud Hospital. The driver of the Toyota, Troy J. Huewe, 49, Elk River, was flown from Lakewood Health System in Staples to the hospital in St. Cloud. Both drivers had non-life-threatening injuries.
Huewe's passenger, Logan J. Huewe, 14, Elk River, and the driver of the pickup, Nathan L. King, 36, Motley, were treated at the Staples hospital and then released.
Road conditions were dry. All involved were wearing seat belts, the state patrol reported.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office assisted the state patrol at the scene.
*** UPDATE: A multi-vehicle crash reported in Sunday’s Dispatch on Highway 64 in Motley inadvertently stated a Ford Fusion was rear-ended by a southbound Chevrolet Silverado pickup in a crash on Highway 64 at 96th Street Southwest in Becker Township in Cass County. It should have stated the Ford rear-ended the Chevy.
