NEW YORK MILLS — The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center will host a Headstones and Art workshop 10 a.m. to noon outdoors Saturday, Oct. 10, at Greenwood Cemetery in New York Mills.
This workshop will be about the symbolism found on headstones. Cultural Center programs director Cheryl Bannes will present information on the meanings behind the decorations found on headstones. People will then learn about doing rubbings on the stones and spend some time doing headstone rubbings.
Class will be postponed if there is heavy rain or snow. The event will follow COVID-19 guidelines and anyone with COVID-19 symptoms should not attend.
Class must have 12 people registered to have the workshop. All supplies will be provided. Cost is $10 per person and people are required to register by calling 218-385-3339 or emailing cheryl@kulcher.org with questions.
