State Rep. Josh Heintzeman, R-Nisswa, will serve as the Republican lead on both the Legacy Finance Division and the Subcommittee on Water when the 2019 legislative session begins Jan. 8 in St. Paul.

Heintzeman was first elected in 2014 and quickly emerged as a leading voice on matters related to natural resources, outdoor recreation, and water quality, according to a news release from the House.

"Our state has a strong, bipartisan tradition of responsible conservation and ensuring that outdoor recreational opportunities are available to all Minnesotans," Heintzeman said in a news release. "As an avid outdoorsman myself and the representative of the Brainerd lakes area, I look forward to using my experience to craft public policy that makes sure that generations of Minnesotans will be able to enjoy the rich natural resources our state has to offer."

The full committee roster is in the process of being finalized for the upcoming session.
