Good Samaritan Society-Bethany residents, staff and family are partnering with Kids Against Hunger to package food for neighbors in need.

The Good Samaritan Society satellite production line starts operation from 2-4 p.m. today at the Brainerd Bethany campus.

"Our residents and volunteers are excited to have this opportunity right in our building," said Good Samaritan Society-Bethany Administrator Ryan Cerney in a news release. "Our local Kids Against Hunger group has been great to work with in getting us set up for production and providing this meaningful way for residents and families to contribute."

Good Samaritan Society is extending the invitation to community groups interested in volunteering to package meals.

"The production space is not as big as the Nisswa location," Cerney said, "but, it is perfect for smaller groups who want to help out."

The food packaged at Good Samaritan Society-Bethany will be a fortified pasta meal to be distributed locally to families in need.

The Brainerd Lakes Area Kids Against Hunger is a volunteer organization. All food is purchased through donations and packed by volunteers. Groups interested in volunteering or donating may contact Good Samaritan Society-Bethany at 829-1407 or Kids Against Hunger at 961-0055.
