High school key club succeeds at convention

The Brainerd High School (BHS) Key Club recently attended the District Leadership Conference in St. Cloud April 17-19 and brought home multiple awards.

The Brainerd High School (BHS) Key Club recently attended the District Leadership Conference in St. Cloud April 17-19 and brought home multiple awards.

Wendy Vandeputte, adviser to the club, received the Kiwanis Adviser of the Year award. Other awards included:

Distinguished President, won by Sara Whiteman.

Distinguished Club, Silver Division, the club took home second place.

Oratory Contest, Camryn Schmidt took home second place.

Tom P. Horan Distinguished Member, won by Jessie Ernster. Ernster also took home the award for Lieutenant Governor for Region 3B.

The BHS Key Club is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Brainerd and involves more than 50 students.
