LITTLE FALLS -- After seven months of detours, Little Falls sidewalks and all lanes on Highway 27 will open by noon Friday, Oct. 25, the Minnesota Department of Transportation announced.
Detours have been in place since April for the $7.6 million improvement project to reconstruct or resurface 2 miles of Highway 27 between 15th Street West and Ninth Street East.
Motorists who travel through the area are reminded it takes a full day to open the road and remove temporary detour signs and barricades, MnDOT stated Thursday.
The project installed new underground city utilities, curb, gutter and sidewalks, improved signals and adjacent entrance connections. In a news release, MnDOT thanked the local community for its patience during the project. For more information, go to mndot.gov/d3/littlefalls .
