Those traveling on Highway 47 south of Aitkin should plan for delays as the road closes Tuesday, Sept. 10, between Aitkin County Road 12 and 396th Place to replace a broken culvert beneath the road.

In a news release, the Minnesota Department of Transportation asked people to stay out of barricaded areas for their safety.
The MnDOT maintenance project is intended to improve drainage along Highway 47.
Highway 47 remains closed between Glen and Malmo to replace a bridge through September. Follow the signed detour along Aitkin County Road 12, County Road 28, Highway 169 and Highway 18 along Mille Lacs Lake to Malmo.
