House fire displaces occupants

Brainerd firefighters battled a house fire at 4:47 a.m. Friday on the 19000 block of Soder Road, north of Brainerd near Iven's on the Bay.

The occupants were out of the structure at the time of firefighters' arrival and no one was hurt.

The Brainerd Fire Department responded with two engines and a water tender and 11 firefighters to the single dwelling home.

Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke and flames coming from a 6- by 6-foot shed attached to the rear of the structure. The fire extended to the rear side of the main structure. Firefighters extinguished the fire and performed overhaul of the structure and looked for fire extension.

Firefighters cleared the scene at 7:30 a.m.

The American Red Cross was notified to assist the occupants of the residence.
