Incumbents win reelection in CWP membership vote

Crow Wing Power — an electric power cooperative with more than 38,700 members in Crow Wing, Morrison and Cass counties — announced the results of its annual election on June 12.

The membership election, which decides three out of nine seats on the co-op’s board of directors every year, was commenced via mail-in ballots and announced in the absence of a cooperative picnic, which was canceled this year because of COVID-19. Overall, 7,889 ballots were submitted, representing 20.61% of the coop’s total membership, while 204 ballots were blank or invalid.

The results of the election are as follows:

District 1 At-Large:

  • Bryan McCulloch (incumbent) — 3,765 votes, or 47.6%.

  • Darrell Shannon — 1,939 votes, or 24.5%.

  • Dale Probasco — 1,443 votes, or 18.3%.

  • Derek Ward — 755 votes, or 9.6%.

District 2B:

  • Gert Roggenkamp (incumbent) — 2,739 votes or 34.5%.

  • Gary Bakken — 2,391 votes or 30.1%.

  • Giles Radtke — 1,870 votes or 23.5%.

  • Carl Younce — 941 votes or 11.8%.

District 2A:

  • Dwight Thiesse (incumbent) — 3,345 votes or 42.2%.

  • Loren Beilke — 3,185 votes or 40.2%.

  • Jay Andolshek — 1,390 votes or 17.6%.
