PILLAGER — A junior varsity football player from the Pillager Huskies suffered an injury on the field Friday, Nov. 6, resulting in the teen being airlifted to the hospital.

The junior varsity squad faced off against the West Central Knights in a game scheduled prior to the varsity match. The injury and emergency response delayed the varsity game by 20 minutes, according to a witness at the scene. The helicopter landed on the field at Pillager High School shortly before 5:30 p.m.

Information on the nature of the injury and the condition of the player was unavailable Friday night.
