BAXTER -- A 23-year-old man who was operating a personal watercraft Friday, July 5, at a high rate of speed, came into the shoreline off Perch Lake in Baxter and struck another 23-year-old man who was standing in the water.
The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office was called to the crash at 9:15 p.m. The sheriff’s office reported the operator -- Ryan M. Cluever of Pine Island -- was unable to stop the watercraft and struck Kyle J. Dickson of Brooklyn Park in the leg. Dickson was transported by North Memorial Ambulance to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. Cluever was not injured.
