LITTLE FALLS-Rep. Ron Kresha, R-Little Falls, is congratulating Borash Farm on being named a 2018 Minnesota Farm Family of the Year by the University of Minnesota's Farm Family Recognition Program.
"I would like to extend my congratulations to Borash Farm for earning this year's Morrison County Farm Family of the Year award," Kresha said in a news release. "The Borash family runs a highly successful aquaculture business in our community and is certainly deserving of this distinction."
Gary Borash and his son, Jeff, co-own and operate Borash's Wholesale Live Bait in Royalton, which has been in the family since 1960. The operation hatches up to 3 million eggs per season and stocks the fry in over 1,100 acres of ponds.
The Farm Family Recognition Program is coordinated by the University of Minnesota Extension; the College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resources Sciences; and the College of Veterinary Medicine and recognizes families from Minnesota's 87 counties who have made significant contributions to Minnesota agriculture and their communities. The 2018 Farm Family Recognition Program is set for Aug. 9 at Farmfest.
