BAUDETTE - Lake of the Woods Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man who was found floating on the Rainy River Monday.
Lake of the Woods Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call at 11:26 a.m. Monday of a body floating on the Rainy River about one mile east of Baudette, Minn., according to a press release.
John Martin Stiglich, 52, of Shoreview, Minn., was recovered from the river at 11:53 a.m.
Stiglich was transported to the Lakewood Health Center where he was later pronounced dead. Stiglich will be transported to the University of North Dakota Forensic Pathology Center in Grand Forks for an autopsy.
The incident remains under investigation.
