Lakes Area Habitat for Humanity recently began building the first of two homes in Brainerd. Shifts for building are 8:30 a.m. to noon, 12:30-4:30 p.m. during the weekdays; 5-8:30 p.m. most evenings and 8 a.m. to noon and 12:30-4:30 p.m. Saturdays with no shifts on Sunday.
About 15-25 volunteers are needed for each shift. Volunteers can sign up individually or as a group. No experience is required. Instruction and supervision will be provided by LAHFH construction managers Keith Schaefbauer and Mark Almen. Each build will take about three to four weeks to complete.
