STAPLES - Those who have been touched by a pregnancy or infant loss are invited to a ceremony of dedication and remembrance at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 6, on the lower level of Lakewood Health System's main campus just east of Staples.

The nondenominational ceremony will include poems, a time for reflection and a special water service at the Serenity Sanctuary fountain. Refreshments will be served at the close of the ceremony. Those attending will receive a special token of remembrance.

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Each year, approximately one million pregnancies in the United States end in miscarriage, stillbirth or the death of the newborn child. Each year, Lakewood hosts this ceremony to acknowledge losses and provide comfort to families.

Whether your loss is recent or was experienced in the past, all - parents, family and friends - are invited to attend. For more information or to request a luminary bag for decorating, contact Sarah at 218-894-8505.
