Do you need help with your woods and want to save money on your taxes?

For a limited time, the Crow Wing Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) has funds for landowners who live within tullibee lake areas and own 20 acres or more. The grant funds provide assistance to write woodland plans.

"Active plans will keep your woods healthy, help you to enjoy your land, create homes for critters, know what to harvest and when, and help you look after your land into the future," Darren Mayers, district technician said. "This is a great opportunity for landowners to understand and learn more about their woods and create a family legacy with their land."

For more information, contact Darren Mayers darren.mayers@crowwingswcd.org or by phone 828-6197.

Once landowners have a plan; they are eligible for tax savings and an annual land payment. Crow Wing County and the SWCD can work with property owners to enroll their land into a Sustainable Forestry Incentive Act annual incentive payment or Class 2c which can lower woodland property tax rate.
