League of Women Voters presents talk on National Loon Center

Kris Kristofek of the National Loon Center in Crosslake will speak at noon Oct. 10 at Prairie Bay Restaurant in Baxter.

The presentation is being sponsored by the League of Women Voters of the Brainerd Lakes Area, with a social at 11:30 a.m. before the program.

Kristofek will share the National Loon Center story, as well as his first-hand knowledge of loons.

The National Loon Center Foundation is dedicated to the survival and protection of the common loon. The foundation’s mission is to restore and protect loon habitats, enhance environmental recreation, and construct a research and education center for migratory wildlife.

The League of Women Voters of the Brainerd Lakes Area is a nonpartisan political organization with a 90-year history of educating Minnesota voters. It encourages informed and active participation in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
