Learning Is Fun is an Early Childhood Family Education plus preschool program. The Learning Is Fun class is designed to work with the special learning needs of a child that is age 3 or 4 years old. The child must be age 3 by Sept. 1, 2016, and toilet trained in order to attend Learning Is Fun.
The Learning Is Fun preschool class is taught by Jessie Mudgett, a licensed early childhood teacher with the Pequot Lakes ISD 186. The Learning Is Fun program has been designed based on use of the Scholastic Big Day for Pre-K curriculum. The Learning Is Fun classes includes Minnesota Department of Education approved curriculum and assessments. The Learning Is Fun program has been approved for the Four Star Rating by Parent Aware. This is the highest rating given to a preschool program. This is your opportunity to enroll your child in a high quality preschool program.
The 2016-2017 Learning Is Fun preschool program includes a two day a week class session that incorporates the parent education time into the regular class time. The Learning Is Fun section No. 1 meets 8:30-11:00 a.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. Learning Is Fun section No. 2 meets 12:30-3 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays.
Classes will start the week of Sept. 12 and continues to meet through May 4, 2017. There are 28 weeks of classes during the school year.
Parents will meet in the Parent Room 8:45-9:30 a.m. on Thursdays for Learning Is Fun section No. 1 parent education. Learning Is Fun section No. 2 parents have class from 12:45-1:30 p.m. on Thursdays only. There is no parent education class on Mondays, just drop off your preschooler to go to class on their own. Parent education sessions will take place for 20 weeks during the school year on the same weeks that Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) classes are in session.

The sliding fee scale for the Learning is Fun registration is posted on the school website www.isd186.org under Early Childhood. Fee information is included in the spring/summer Community Education Guide to Classes and Activities. Registration forms are in the ECFE office on the east end of Eagle View. There is a non-refundable enrollment deposit fee of $25.
Scholarships are available for families who qualify. No one will be turned away from the class due to an inability to pay. Call the ECFE office at 218-562-7520 for more information.
Registration is open. You can sign up for the class online, too. Go to www.isd186.org then click on the early childhood programs tab and then select the Learning Is Fun registration form. You can download and print the form. Fill out the registration form and mail with your payment to ECFE at 30805 Olson Street in Pequot Lakes, MN 56472 or try the online payments and complete your class registration online information. Payment is made by credit card with the online registration. This is a new payment option to better serve you.
Learning Is Fun is the class for preschool children who are ages 3 and 4. Help your child to enroll in this age appropriate class and begin their schooling with the Pequot Lakes school district.
