The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe will hold its State of the Band event from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Aug. 21 at Northern Lights Casino Hotel Ballroom in Walker.
The event will include a drum and dance performance, youth hand drum and Ojibwe language presentations by students from Leech Lake's language immersion program. A light lunch will be served and there will be prize drawings. Eighth District Rep. Rick Nolan, D-Minn., is scheduled to speak.
