The Brainerd Public Library invites the public to a free event from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, to make their own free steamroller art creation.
The ArtOrg Thousand Print Summer uses a small steamroller to make prints for children and adults. Participants can check in, and choose materials, then sit down under the tent to cut up stuff to make a printing block.
According to a press release, the block is rolled with ink. Then, the inky block is put on the runway with a piece of paper on top. The steamroller then rolls over the block. When the paper is peeled back, it will reveal a print.
No registration is required, but arrive no later than 6 p.m. to be sure to get a chance to complete a print. All ages are welcome.
This free Legacy Program is funded in part or in whole with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on Nov. 4, 2008, which dedicated funding to preserve Minnesota's arts and cultural heritage.
