Little Falls man gets 90 months in prison for child molestation

LITTLE FALLS--A Little Falls man was sentenced Wednesday to 90 months--7 1/2 years--in prison for sexually abusing four children under the age of 16.

Vernon Bob Hintz, 55, was sentenced after being convicted of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim under age 16, who he had a significant relationship with. Morrison County District Court Judge Douglas P. Anderson also ordering Hintz to register as a predatory sex offender and provide a DNA sample for storage and comparison, the Morrison County Attorney's Office stated in a news release.

Vernon Bob Hintz, 55, was sentenced after being convicted of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim under age 16, who he had a significant relationship with. Morrison County District Court Judge Douglas P. Anderson also ordering Hintz to register as a predatory sex offender and provide a DNA sample for storage and comparison, the Morrison County Attorney's Office stated in a news release.

According to the complaint, on Dec.11, 2015, a victim under the age of 16 reported she was sexually abused by someone with whom she has a "significant relationship" as that term is defined by law. She identified her abuser as Hintz.

A Morrison County social worker and investigator took statements from several children before interviewing Hintz, who admitted to having sexual contact with four children under the age of 16. Each of the four children has significant relationships with Hintz.

"These were brave children who came forth and told investigators personal details of their abuse. That took a tremendous amount of courage," Morrison County Attorney Brian Middendorf stated in a news release.

Assistant Morrison County Attorney Todd Kosovich stated, "These poor children will have to deal with the consequences of his crimes for the rest of their lives, and now so will Mr. Hintz."
