LiveHealthy Cass County is seeking employers in Cass County to participate in a workplace
wellness collaborative, which is a no-cost initiative designed to create "cultures of health" that
support healthy behaviors at work.
The initiative is funded through the Statewide Health Improvement Program, Minnesota Department of Health.
In the initiative, which will be August 2016 through September 2017 for this region, employers

will learn about proven practices that can help organizations support a culture of wellness in the workplace by making the healthy choice the easy choice. These strategies will both encourage and engage their workers in healthy behaviors which will have a positive effect on their health. The collaborative, which is open to employers with any number of employees and requires little or no financial resources from participating employers, can lead to increased worker productivity, improved morale and lower healthcare costs. Employers have to provide staff time for planning and implementation.
LiveHealthy Cass County, with support from SHIP, will provide 13 months of free consultation
and the necessary tools and technical assistance for participating employers. Employers will
learn about strategies to support breastfeeding mothers and help employees eat healthier, get
more physical activity and decrease commercial tobacco use.
