Local organizations receive Otto Bremer Trust grants

A few local organizations received grants from a recent Otto Bremer Trust grantmaking cycle.

The trust awarded 105 grants totaling $6.5 million, with $847,400 awarded to organizations in central, northern and northwest Minnesota.

Sexual Assault Services in Brainerd received $50,000 for general operations to provide services for victims of sexual assault and to offer education and prevention programs in Crow Wing County.

The Initiative Foundation in Little Falls received $100,000 to enhance the fiscal health of nonprofits, improve the quantity and quality of services to better serve the community and grow the management skills of the board and staff.

Aitkin County Habitat for Humanity in Aitkin received $7,000 for general operations to provide long-term affordable housing in Aitkin County.

Riverwood Healthcare Center in Aitkin received $175,000 to renovate and expand clinic space to support growth in physician services and enhanced access and care for patients, including a new kidney dialysis unit.

Leech Lake Financial Services in Cass Lake received $50,000 for general operations to build assets and credit while supporting small business development on the Leech Lake Reservation.
