Child killed near Wabasso on Friday after accident with vehicle

A child was killed in "vehicle vs child" accident Friday near Wabasso.

WABASSO — A child was killed after they were involved in what the Redwood County Sheriff's Office called a "vehicle vs child accident" around 5:56 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Redwood County State Aid Highway 6 and Jade Avenue.

According to the release, the child died of their injuries sometime after the accident. Both Centra Care Ambulance and North Air Care responded to the scene.

No information on what occurred was released by the Sheriff's Office, and neither the child's age nor name has been released.

Also called to the scene were the Redwood County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Wabasso Ambulance and Wabasso Fire Department.
