Crash in Irondale Township causes power outage

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash, reported at 11:47 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, in Irondale Township.

CROSBY — A vehicle crashed into a power pole Friday, Aug. 12, at County Highway 12 and Rider Road in Crow Wing County, knocking out power to more than a thousand people in the area.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash, reported at 11:47 a.m., in Irondale Township, south of Crosby.

No other information about the crash was available as of noon Friday.

Amy Rutledge, a communications manager with Minnesota Power said the power outage, at its peak, affected around 1,700 residences in the area of Riverton, Ironton, Crosby, Deerwood, Trommald and Cuyuna areas.

Rutledge said crews are currently on scene and power is expected to be restored around 2:45 p.m. Friday.
