Crow Wing County sets County Road 115 reconstruction timeline

The Crow Wing County Highway Department announced a proposed timeline of the reconstruction work to be done on County Road 115.

BRAINERD —Crow Wing County entered into a contract with Borden Excavating Inc. for the reconstruction of County Road 115 from the south Highway 371 intersection to the north Highway 371 intersection.

The project is 4.8 miles in length and will involve grading, storm sewer, curb and gutter, and resurfacing. A proposed timeline of events is below, according to a Tuesday, July 26, news release:

August 2022 into winter

  • Vegetation clearing and utility relocations from south Highway 371 to Bishop’s Creek, which is about 900 feet north of County Road 127.
  • Work will proceed north of Bishop’s Creek as weather dictates.
  • Expect lane closures and minor delays. Traffic to be controlled with flaggers.

Spring 2023 to fall 2023

  • Roadway reconstruction from south Highway 371 to Bishop’s Creek. 
  • Work may proceed north of the creek as weather dictates.
  • County Road 115 from south Highway 371 to County Road 127 will be closed to through traffic.
  • County Road 115 from County Road 127 to north Highway 371 will be signed as the detour.
  • Vegetation clearing and utility relocations from Bishop’s Creek to north Highway 371.
  • Expect lane closures and minor delays. Traffic to be controlled with flaggers.

Spring 2024 to fall 2024

  • Roadway reconstruction from Bishop’s Creek to north Highway 371.
  • County Road 115 from County Road 127 to north Highway 371 will be closed to through traffic.
  • County Road 115 from County Road 127 to south Highway 371 will be signed as the detour.

2025

  • A landscaping project will occur to place vegetation near holding ponds and other select areas.
