BAXTER — A 42-year-old Walker woman was arrested Saturday, Sept. 10, for possession of suspected methamphetamine at Walmart, 7295 Glory Road, in Baxter.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office stated a traffic stop was conducted in connection to an investigation into the use, sales and trafficking of illegal substances.
According to the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, the traffic stop took place at 9:42 p.m. and a K-9 was deployed for a sniff. The K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle and a search was conducted.
Deputies located 1 pound of suspected methamphetamine and $6,500.
Cass County stated the investigation indicated the drugs were bound for the Walker/Leech Lake Reservation area. Formal charges related to drug possession and sales are pending.

Assisting at the scene were the Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force and the Baxter Police Department.
