Nisswa 100 cross-country snowmobile race taking place this weekend

Inaugural event around Nisswa and Lake Shore is part of the Cor Powersports professional snowmobile race series

NISSWA — The inaugural Nisswa 100 cross-country snowmobile race will take place Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 26-27.

This is a stop on the Cor Powersports professional snowmobile race series that is expected to bring 150-170 racers, their teams and their families to Nisswa.

The course will include 30 miles of ditches and groomed trails in the woods.

Racing starts at 9 a.m. both days next to Crocker Collision on County Road 29 in Lake Shore. The event is open to snowmobilers and spectators. Register to race by Wednesday, Feb. 23.

"We're proud to be bringing it back," Nisswa Chamber President Pam Dorion said. "Snowmobile racing used to be such a big part of this area."

The course will be 30 miles of ditches and groomed trails in the woods. All classes will race 2 laps per day except Pro's, Pro Open will race 4 laps on Saturday with a mandatory fuel stop and Pro Factory on Sunday with a mandatory fuel stop. ALL classes will race approx 120 miles over the weekend
