We all have heard that we should keep our stress to a minimum.

Let’s not get stressed out! Well, that is easier said than done. Life happens!

You have a role to play in your own health and well-being. For me, I have a tendency to eat when I am stressed. On the other hand, I can stress easily just trying to figure out what to make for dinner at the last minute.

Grocery shopping can be a real challenge, especially if you are on a limited budget. Because food is a controllable expense, it can be a target for reduced spending when money is tight. You can still serve meals that are appetizing, easy to prepare and nutritious by planning ahead and managing your money.
We need to gain coping skills that help us get through those stressful times. If you have worries about your health, nutrition, food security and safety, financial concerns, or substance abuse, University of Minnesota Extension Center for Family Development has free webinars that could help you cope.

As you can see, there are a variety of topics including how to save money when meal planning and when grocery shopping. There is a session when you are learning how to cook for one or two people. For family caregivers, there is a session for tips and tools for you and your loved ones. With autumn in the air, the holidays will be here soon – there is a session on managing your health through the holidays.
