CAMP RIPLEY - Soldiers have always been measured by commitment to the Army, success in battle and service to the country. These measurements are products of the seven Army values each soldier works to uphold every day.
Loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage are the guidelines of a successful and fulfilling military career and for Chief Warrant Officer 4 Marie Festler, the cornerstones of 30 years of military service.
Growing up in the Little Falls community, Chief Festler became well acquainted with the military and Camp Ripley. Enlisting as an accounting specialist with the Minnesota National Guard in 1984, she began her career of service to her country, state and community.
"I always wanted to be a part of the military growing up; and now here I am," said Festler.
Chief Festler has two degrees in accounting from Central Lakes College and Brainerd Vocational Technical School which have prepared her to meet the U.S. Army's complex work combination of mission, task and responsibility - all while in constant motion.
