Bob Loreno of Baxter became the sixth and final candidate to file for the Brainerd School Board Tuesday. Filings closed at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
A business manager at Lake Country Toyota, he and his wife have lived in Baxter since 1989. They have three children who have gone through the Brainerd School District and they now have grandchildren who are just entering the school system.
"I wanted to run to get involved in the school district ... just to be more involved in the community," he said. "I really don't know what I'm in for ... I'm kind of wide open on what ... problems and situations will come up. I think it would just be interesting to be involved in some of those decisions.
Loreno, 51, described the board as a six-person team and said he was used to that kind of work environment. He said he previously worked at Mills GM and at Dondelinger's.
"I have the time (to serve). I'd like to give it a try."
