Loretto man arrested after pursuit in Wadena Co.

The chase reached speeds in excess of 130 mph, according to the sheriff's office.

HUNTERSVILLE TOWNSHIP — A Loretto man was arrested after a high-speed chase with law enforcement Sunday, April 26, in Wadena County.

The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office reports deputies attempted to stop a 2004 Pontiac GTO on County Highway 12 near Nimrod at 5:08 p.m. Sunday. The vehicle, driven by the 55-year-old man, fled northbound on Huntersville Road. The pursuit lasted about eight minutes and reached speeds above 130 mph. The pursuit ended on Huntersville Road near 350th Street in Huntersville Township.

Deputies arrested the man, who is in the Wadena County Jail. He is also wanted out of Wright County. A formal complaint is pending with the Wadena County Attorney’s Office.

The Menahga Police Department and K&K Towing assisted the sheriff’s office on scene.
