A 19-year-old Cass Lake man was arrested Tuesday after attempting to flee the scene of a crash in south Brainerd.
The Brainerd Police Department reports at 2:43 a.m., Joshua Beaulieu crashed into a tree near Quince and South Sixth streets. When officers arrived, witnesses stated Beaulieu left the scene on foot.
Officers located the man nearby with injuries consistent with the crash. Beaulieu and a passenger were both transported to Essentia Health-St. Joseph's Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers determined Beaulieu had an active warrant in Beltrami County. He was charged with criminal vehicle operation, driving after revocation, fleeing the scene, under-21 driving while intoxicated and careless driving.
The Minnesota State Patrol, Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office and the Baxter Police Department assisted at the scene.
