ONAMIA - One man is dead after his pickup truck left the road and hit trees.
Vernon G. Hartleib, 79, Onamia, was driving south on U.S. Highway 169 in Mille Lacs County when his 2010 Chevrolet Silverado left the highway and hit trees along the route shortly after 3:45 p.m. Friday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The patrol’s report did indicate the highway was wet at the time of the crash, and Hartleib died at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the crash, investigators said.
