A 27-year-old man was injured after he was thrown from the motorcycle he was driving after it collided with a vehicle at 8 a.m. Monday on Maple Street and Eighth Street in Brainerd, the Brainerd Police Department reported.
William J. Watson Wear, 27, Brainerd, was transported by North Memorial Ambulance to Essentia Health-St. Joseph's Medical Center for injuries. The driver of the vehicle, Sheila R. Gunderson, 48, Baxter, was not injured.
Police reported that Wear was traveling on Maple Street and was making a turn onto Eighth Street, when Gunderson failed to yield, causing the crash.
Police cited Gunderson for failing to yield in the right-of-way to a crossing vehicle and Wear was cited for violating the motorcycle instructional permit, by failing to wear the required protective equipment.
