MAPLEWOOD - Police arrested a Maplewood man on suspicion of homicide in the death of an infant found at a home Thursday morning.
Leb Mike Meak, 35, was booked into the Ramsey County Jail on Thursday evening.
Police were called to a home in the 2500 block of Barclay Street at 11 a.m., on a report of a baby who was not breathing.
Officers found an unresponsive 18-month-old girl in a basement bedroom. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to news release, police found “a number of bruises on the child’s body and face” that they believed to be suspicious.

Meak and another man, who were in the home when police and paramedics arrived, were detained and interviewed. Police arrested Meak after his interview, and released the other man.
Police said Meak is the boyfriend of the infant’s mother, but is not the girl’s biological father. The two do not live together.
